Help Students Improve Their Handwriting- Rule of THREE Strategy from Moreno Made
For some reason, the magic number in literacy is three. Think about your favorite book and how the author connects three short sentences for dramatic effect. Or when they use three quick words to make you want to keep reading at the end of a chapter. It is powerful!
Using the number three is also incredible for editing and revising as well.
For struggling students, after they write a sentence or paragraph, have them pause and find THREE and limit this to THREE parts of the writing to fix. In the beginning, I give them a focus skill to look for to correct.
For example, THREE letters to erase and fix to improve the spacing of their words. For more examples, please see the google slide I created for my students. I'll update you soon with a video lesson and handouts.
